Powerdown Feedback

Welcome to the official Powerdown feedback forum. Do you have a suggestion for improving Powerdown, a bug you would like fixed or a feature you would like included in the next release? We want to hear from you!

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the “My feedback” filter and select “My open ideas”.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can vote and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can vote on it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

    1. Prevent scheduled shutdowns if user is logged in

The behaviour of performing a scheduled shutdown if a user is logged in but not actively using a machine makes a lot of sense in a business environment where each user has their own machine. However in open access public use environments (e.g. school or college computing labs), shutting down or hibernating the computer when a user is logged in is not desirable. Consider adding an additional configuration option which prevents the computer shutting down if a user is logged in

      • Disable power savings when user is giving a presentation

When user is using Powerpoint or similar, make Powerdown temporarily disable power savings so that the computer does not turn of the display or shut down due to lack of interaction from the user

        • Add centralised reporting of energy savings

Add a way of gathering usage information and energy saving reports from each client and expose these centrally through a reporting tool
